Mid Tendring Education Partnership is pleased to be working with Essex Education Services (EES), who provide a range of world-class support services to over 4,500 schools in 20 different countries, delivering highly successful and innovative services; to provide specialist ‘ Finance Modular Training for Head Teachers & Senior Leaders’.

The course aims to increase your confidence in knowing your roles and responsibilities with regards to finance and internal controls within your school, academy or multi academy trust. This will enable you to make better informed decisions with confidence, and give you the ability to challenge financial information provided to you when required.

Essex High Sheriff Visits to Find Out About Work of MTEP & Find Your Spark

As you know Mid Tendring Education Partnership, has been working with Michelle Shavdia Psychologist – Find Your Spark – to provide our parents with Brief Solution Focused Therapy, providing four 1:1 individual sessions.

This work has come to the attention of Essex High Sheriff – Bryan Borough, who in his role is keen to meet with as many charities and volunteers as possible to promote and encourage the work they do in the community. The High Sheriff also wants to promote the High Sheriffs Fund, which is held by Essex Community Foundation (ECF).

Bryan asked to come and meet with myself and Michelle, and it was agreed that he could see part of a Brief Solution Focused Session with a parent. The parent was able to share that she had suffered a huge amount of loss in her life, and was struggling. She had taken the first step and spoken to the school about support and she had started work with the MTEP Family Worker, who had suggested that BFST might be helpful. The parent told the High Sheriff that initially she was skeptical about it – how could 4 sessions help with anything? – but admitted that she had been proved wrong.

The parent told Bryan that having the Brief Solution Focused Therapy Sessions and seeing Michelle had ‘Changed Her Life’ she said “I know that sounds cliché – but it really did. I am a much calmer confident parent and I know my self-worth, and so my children now get the best of me! Thank you!!”
